FAQs
Common questions about gutters
Should I replace 20-year-old gutters?
Not always. If they still hold water, drain to the downspouts and sit tight against the house, a repair or a cleaning may be all they need. It’s time to replace them when they leak at the joints, sag, pull away from the fascia or were dented by hail. We’ll look at yours at the free estimate and tell you which it is.
How long do gutters last?
Most seamless gutters last about 20 years, and many go longer. What wears them out is water that doesn’t drain: clogs, loose hangers and leaking corners, and a bad hailstorm can dent them in one afternoon. Keeping them clean and fixing small leaks early helps them last.
Do I need gutters in Lubbock?
Yes, on most homes. Lubbock doesn’t get much rain, but it often comes all at once, and without gutters it pours off the roof right beside your foundation. That washes out flower beds, splashes mud onto brick and siding, and soaks the ground the house sits on. Gutters and downspouts carry the water away.
Can you paint gutters?
They can be painted, but it takes careful prep: they have to be cleaned and primed with a primer made for metal, or the paint won’t stick. Paint also won’t fix a gutter that leaks or sags. Our new seamless gutters come in 26 baked-on colors, so if yours are due for replacing, we can match the new ones to your house.
What are gutters made of?
Most gutters on houses are aluminum. It doesn’t rust, it’s light, and it comes in many colors. Steel and copper gutters are made too, and copper is mostly chosen for its look. Vinyl ones are sold at home stores for do-it-yourself jobs. Ours are aluminum, milled in the US and formed to length at your house, and we’ll go over colors and styles at the free estimate.
How much do gutters cost?
It depends on the house: how many feet of gutter it needs, how many downspouts, the gutter size and color, how high the roof line is, and whether you add gutter guards. Since no two houses are the same, we measure yours at the free estimate and give you a price before any work starts.
Is the estimate free?
